How Curosurf Works:
Poractant Alfa replenishes deficient or dysfunctional pulmonary surfactant in preterm infants. It reduces surface tension in the alveoli, improves lung compliance, and enhances oxygenation, crucial for breathing support in RDS.

Dosage & Administration:
Initial Dose: 100–200 mg/kg via intratracheal instillation
Repeat Dose: Up to two additional doses of 100 mg/kg at 12-hour intervals if needed
Route: Intratracheal (given directly into the infant’s lungs)
Setting: Administered by trained neonatology staff in NICU
Monitoring: Continuous cardiorespiratory and oxygen saturation monitoring required
